So this past weekend was a whirlwind trip in San Antonio!! Our son-in-law graduated from USAF Basic Training.
His flight marching into position.
Standing at attention waiting for the next command.
Sweet Reunions!!
Friday morning was the official graduation ceremony. We were up bright and early again. We were thankful for the cloud cover so it wasn't hot and we even got a bit of drizzle. The breeze did get a bit chilly out there on the parade grounds, but it wasn't too bad.
All dressed up and ready to go!
Marched in and READY!
Beginning the Pass and Review.
All sacked out....this traveling and going and doing and early mornings and all is tough work!
After the ceremony Lex and Jonathan asked us to babysit so they could have some time for just them. They met up with us for dinner out Outback later that evening. Saturday we were able to take things a bit easier. After breakfast and some browsing at a bookstore, we picked up Jonathan and the kids decided to go have some family time. So we left them to that, wished Jonathan well and headed out to do our own thing. We went downtown thinking the Mercado would be fun, but being St. Patrick's day it was NUTS. We detoured to a mall, then grabbed a bite of lunch on our way out of town. Lex and Matrim stayed one more night and went to Chapel with Jonathan Sunday morning. Once he had to be back in the dorm they headed home.
We are all a bit tired today, but are so glad we could make the trip! Now on to the next adventure.....more on that next Monday!
