Celebrations
WOW!!! what a fun weekend! It all started really back around Father's day when we bought Russ a new smoker. We proceeded to smoke about 40 pounds of meat....pork roast and ribs. Then come last Wednesday Russ' folks drove into town pulling their trailer and parked here on our property. We enjoyed visiting and going out to eat with them. Then on Saturday, the 4th, we put the meat back on the grill to thaw and finish cooking....low and slow. My parents pulled into town in the early afternoon and other friends from church and work began arriving about 4. We had soooooo much food and such good fellowship. It was HOT for sure! But we had a bit of shade to enjoy, games to play, and ample iced tea and lemonade for all! And no one left hungry!
We filled an entire row of seats at church on Sunday with both sets of parents with us. I was slotted for Deacon's duties that day and so asked Dad to join me in serving communion. What a wonderful treat that was! (Dad is a retired Preacher for those who do not know.)
Now we are preparing our project calendar and supply lists. Will begin working this next weekend. (yes I'm a slave driver...hahaha).
