Anniversary
Last Friday, Russ' parents celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary! We got together with the family and all went out to dinner at a really terrific place! We had a private dining room at the Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse in West End in Dallas. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was fun. It was a WONDERFUL evening!
All ready to go

Graduation!
So this past weekend was a whirlwind trip in San Antonio!! Our son-in-law graduated from USAF Basic Training.
His flight marching into position.
Standing at attention waiting for the next command.
Sweet Reunions!!
Friday morning was the official graduation ceremony. We were up bright and early again. We were thankful for the cloud cover so it wasn't hot and we even got a bit of drizzle. The breeze did get a bit chilly out there on the parade grounds, but it wasn't too bad.
All dressed up and ready to go!
Marched in and READY!
Beginning the Pass and Review.
All sacked out....this traveling and going and doing and early mornings and all is tough work!
After the ceremony Lex and Jonathan asked us to babysit so they could have some time for just them. They met up with us for dinner out Outback later that evening. Saturday we were able to take things a bit easier. After breakfast and some browsing at a bookstore, we picked up Jonathan and the kids decided to go have some family time. So we left them to that, wished Jonathan well and headed out to do our own thing. We went downtown thinking the Mercado would be fun, but being St. Patrick's day it was NUTS. We detoured to a mall, then grabbed a bite of lunch on our way out of town. Lex and Matrim stayed one more night and went to Chapel with Jonathan Sunday morning. Once he had to be back in the dorm they headed home.
We are all a bit tired today, but are so glad we could make the trip! Now on to the next adventure.....more on that next Monday!

Projects
So this week I decided to tackle a few projects. Fun stuff really! Lex had seen a necklace online that she liked the style of but of course it needed to be customized to suit her. We had gone shopping to get the supplies and yesterday I made her necklace for her.
The left side has Jonathan's name on the bottom piece, connected to a piece with his birthstones and the oval says Love. The middle has the cross connected to a piece with Lex's birthstone and the oval says Faith. The right side has Matrim's name connected to a piece with with his birthstone and the oval says Hope. All those are connected to the heart and the chain is also made of tiny hearts. I thought it turned out beautifully!
After finishing her necklace I got inspired to make something for myself to go with a new blouse I have. And here's what I made....

Well today I decided to tackle a couple of really quick sewing projects. Some time back I had found some material on sale that looked like a tiered skirt had the elastic and everything! All you had to do was cut the right width and sew up the seam! So I had gone out to clear my sewing area and get this 5 minute project finished. Well wouldn't you know that I spotted some remnants that I had forgotten about and inspiration hit again!! This one piece was just begging to be turned into a dress for Kerrie. The image of what I wanted it to look like came to mind. I set aside the skirts and got busy. The skirts did eventually get finished, but not till after I finished the dress.
She is absolutely delighted to have a new dress and I'm pretty pleased with it for not having had a pattern to use other than the image in my head. Looks the way I wanted it to though.
Other projects for the week are sourdough breads (mainly english muffins for the weekend...YUM) and playing in my herbs with ideas Russ and I have had for new blends.
Blessings!
